Evan Rachel Wood
Evan Rachel Wood was conceived in
Raleigh, North Carolina on September 7 1987. Her father Ira David Wood III is a
theatre writer and actor, while her mother, Sara Wood is an actress and acting
coach. Her older brothers include Dana Wood, a musician and Ira David Wood IV
who have also been actors. Evan as well as her brothers appeared at Theatre In
The Park, Raleigh in the same place where her father serves as the executive
director. After a long audition process and a five-year age gap, she was old
when she was able to screen-test against Kirsten Dunst. In the year 1996, she
moved to Los Angeles along with her brother Ira and mother. She has been a
regular in TV series, feature films, and television movies since. Tracy played
her part in Practical Magic (1998) and also in S1m0ne (2002 Al Pacino's
daughter). Holly Hunter followed with Thirteen (2004). Her breakthrough role as
Tracy on "Thirteen" resulted in a Golden Globes nomination and a
Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. She was the first actress nominated for
an Emmy or Golden Globe nomination for a Leading Role award at the time. The
role she played as Veda Pierce in the HBO mini-series Mildred, Pierce (2011)
was rewarded with an Emmy nomination as well as an Emmy nomination and a Golden
Globe award. Her remarkable portrayal of Stephanie Rourke's estranged child in
Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler (2008) earned her praise. Sara Wood and Ira
David Wood III are her parents. Younger sister of Ira David Wood IV and Dana
Wood. Trained in dance. She enjoys to sing, riding a horseback, as well as
rollerblade. She is the black belt in tae kwon-do. She has kept in touch
throughout her Once and Again (1999) co-stars: Mischa Barrton, Julia Whelan and
Shane West.
